Behind the Season

This was my main animation project I did last year.I spent several months mechanically modeling a drum set that would play a simple beat queued up with a short solo I wrote for it. I was nominated for the top award in the category, but unfortunately, I didn't place.

Last year, we were asked to animate a story book and bring it to life with the intention of giving the animations on video to children at a hospital. I had to cut a few corners unfortunately on perfection to make sure I finished it on time, but it is sitll my best 2 dimensional project I've done this far.

The video strand in e-Communication set out to d0 a project in which they captured the "behind the scenes" footage for all of the sports this Fall, and I was asked to animate their logo for it. I took the logo they gave me and used a Video Copilot add-on for the Optical Flares and finished it relatively quickly.

The Ed Sullivan Show Presents

Having received the comments from last year's drum set, I decided to try again. However, this time I had a particular set in mind that I wanted to model: Ringo Starr's drum set from the early years of The Beatles. When I finished, though, I thought, "Why stop there?" So I began sculpting the Hofner bass that Paul McCartney played, and once that was done I sculpted John Lennon's Rickenbacker. After that, I needed a setting, so I knew there was no better setting than the Ed Sullivan Show with the best set: the second one.
